Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Patriot Day on September 11
In observance of the 21st anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and in accordance with a proclamation issued by President Joe Biden, Governor Tim Walz has ordered that United States and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings Sunday.
“September 11, 2022, marks the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the United States of America in which thousands of innocent people were killed or injured. Police officers, fire, and rescue personnel, other first responders, and American citizens demonstrated extraordinary bravery in the wake of these attacks,” reads the proclamation issued by Governor Walz. “The people of Minnesota have set aside this day to honor, remember, and mourn the victims of this tragedy.”
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.
